Modern Slavery Statement

Last updated: 2 July 2026

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Progress Lane Recruitment Agency Ltd ("Progress Lane") has taken to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or supply chain.

1. Our business

Progress Lane is an international specialist recruitment practice operating across AI, cyber security and Product & Engineering. We introduce candidates to client organisations on a permanent or contract basis. Our supply chain is small and consists primarily of professional services (technology, legal, accounting, background screening, hosting) and independent contractors.

2. Our policies

  • Zero tolerance of forced labour, human trafficking, servitude and child labour.
  • All placements are subject to right-to-work verification and, where applicable, background screening.
  • Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, including anti-slavery legislation, and warrant the same in writing.
  • Staff receive briefings on the indicators of modern slavery and how to raise concerns confidentially.

3. Due diligence

  • We only work with regulated background-screening providers.
  • Candidate-paid fees are prohibited - candidates never pay us for representation.
  • Contractors engaged via umbrella companies or personal service companies are subject to onboarding checks.
  • Any credible concern is investigated and reported to the relevant authority where required.

4. Risk assessment

We consider our modern slavery risk profile to be low given the professional nature of placements and the geographies in which we operate. We keep this assessment under review and adjust our controls if we expand into higher-risk sectors or regions.

5. Training & governance

The board is accountable for this statement. It is reviewed annually and updated when our operations or the regulatory landscape change materially.

6. Reporting concerns

Any concern about modern slavery or human trafficking can be reported in confidence to legal@progresslane.co. Reports may be made anonymously and will be handled without retaliation.
